What is Reiki?

Reiki is a Japanese form of complementary health care that is used for improving your health and enhancing your quality of life. This specialized technique is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through and around us and is what causes us to be alive. If our "life force energy" is low or out of balance, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if our energy is high or balanced, then we are more capable of being healthy and happy.

A Reiki treatment feels like a warm, glowing radiance that flows through and around you or it doesn't feel like anything at all. Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects including relaxation, rejuvenation, and stress reduction as well as feelings of peace, security and wellbeing. It is not a substitute for medical or psychological care or treatment.

Reiki is a simple, natural and safe method of healing that everyone can use. It has been proven effective in helping virtually every known illness and always has a beneficial effect. It also works in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery. There are no adverse side effects of a Reiki treatment.

Reiki is a gift for all to enjoy and benefit from. Reiki use is not dependant on your intellectual capacity, emotional stability or spiritual development and therefore is available to everyone. While Reiki is spiritual in nature and a sacred practice, it is not a religion. It has no dogma, and there is nothing you must believe in order to learn and use Reiki.
